Twisted Polypropylene Rope

Twisted Polypropylene Rope (Monofilament)

Twisted Polypropylene Rope is one of the most widely used synthetic ropes. Here are some general characteristics:

  • Designed to be tough
  • Resistant to most acids, oils, grease, gasoline, diesel fuel, and most chemicals
  • Lightweight and will float on the surface of water
  • Little elasticity and will not stretch much before breaking
  • Easy to splice together
  • Rot-proof
  • Not as strong as nylon
  • Abrasion-resistant
  • Very economical
  • When tied into a knot, polypropylene will loosen if not tied tightly- the rope tends to return to its untied state
