Raschel Knotless Nylon

• Raschel Knitted netting can be made from most any fiber.  The more common fibers are Nylon, Polyethylene, and Polyester.  Raschel Knitted netting  is versatile and is used in many applications – Fish farming , Aquaculture, Sports Nets, Industrial Nets, etc.  Basic characteristics are:

• Smooth surface with no concentrated areas of abrasion which is helpful when a soft netting is needed such as harvesting delicate fish
• Greater yield per pound- means more square feet per pound , greater coverage than knotted netting, and is less expensive per square foot
• No loss of strength at the area where the twines intersect. Knotted netting’s weakest point is where the twines intersect ( at the knot)
• Since Raschel Knitted Netting does not have knots, the meshes formed by the twines will not slip under pressure. Knotted netting  under pressure will sometimes slip
• Nylon and Polyester netting will sink in water, while polyethylene and polypropylene will float
• Usually Raschel Knitted Netting is more difficult to repair than twisted knotted netting
