Double Braided Polyester Rope

Double Braided Polyester Rope

  • Double braided ropes are constructed when a core of fibers are braided together to form a rope, then a jacket of fibers is braided over the core of braided fibers.
  • Also known as braid on braid or yacht braid
  • Polyester fiber is strong
  • Will sink in water
  • Will absorb almost no water
  • Has a very high abrasion resistance even when wet
  • Very little stretch or elasticity compared to nylon
  • Not affected by most chemicals or fuels
  • Good ultra violet (U.V.) resistance
  • Can be spliced
  • Usually less expensive than double braided nylon
  • Ideal when an application requires a strong, abrasion resistant, low stretch rope that will sink in water
