Twisted Manila Rope

Made from natural fibers, manila rope has been used for centuries
Ties knots easily and holds knots well
Carries no static electricity and is used frequently on chemical and gasoline tanker vessels
Surface of the rope is somewhat rough (not slick or slippery) Very popular for tug of war games and exercise climbing rope
Very little stretch
Will not melt on contact with hot surfaces
Must be stored dry. Moisture will cause manila to rot and weaken
Will shrink 10% to 15% when wet
Not as strong as most synthetic ropes
